Working many people in the same project (The team work) raises a lot of issues like sharing the source code, make it up to date, undo changes, but don’t affect others work. All these issues are solved in a way or other by the existing source control systems. But there was a something we couldn’t find in any: use the source control system over the internet in a safety and fast way.

This is the main reason we’ve developed the Source over Net. This solution is a mid layer between the Source safe server and the MS Visual Studio IDE. This solution can be integrated with the Visual Studio, just like the MS Source Safe. On the other end it is connected to a Source Safe database.

The main feature of this solution is that can be configured to compress and encrypt the data sent over the internet to keep the safety of the code, gaining this way a very good behavior over narrow bandwidth networks.

The solution provides a browser application to be able to view, receive, compare and search the database. This browser has similar look as MS Source Safe Explorer, because many of the developers are already familiar with it.
